Summer blues & glossy nude makeup tutorial

Hello bees, I really hope everyone is okay with all the events that are happening in the world right now. It’s always important to remember that change doesn’t happen without feeling uncomfortable first.

For today’s blog post I wanted to share with you a gorgeous makeup look that I’ve been loving recently. I have been using blues in my summer makeup, especially with a glossy nude lip.

Starting with my favourite part of any makeup look, the base! To prime the skin i opted for the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, this is such a dream for a dewy look and peaks through foundation making any makeup applied on top look super fresh and flawless.

My current favourite foundation is the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream. This is like magic in a tube, it has a light feel with an amazing medium to full coverage and looks so stunning on the skin. I also love how this wears through the day. To conceal my dark under eye circles I used a small amount of the Glossier Stretch concealer . I’ve been trying to use this up as i love the formula but i’m not too fond of how it creases on me.

To add some colour back into my cheeks I used a swipe of the Colourpop Blush Stix in shade ‘under pressure’. I like to apply this with a brush to the apples of my cheeks and blend out with my fingers. This melts into the skin and is the perfect coral blush. To set the skin I’ve been using a old favourite of mine, the Too Faced Perfect Peach Setting Powder sets your base all day and makes the skin look so pretty. Plus it smells like peaches!

To add some depth back into my cheeks I used the bronzing shade from the Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Face palette . This is the perfect shade for my skin and isn’t insanely pigmented which is what I opt for in a bronzer.

I can’t do a makeup look without a mega watt fresh glow and I have recently rediscovered my love for the L’Oréal Glow Mon Amour highlighting drops in the shade ‘sparkling love’. This is the perfect shade for my skin and gives a beautiful wet look finish. I apply this by putting a small dot of product where the light would naturally hit my face and then blending out with a brush.

To prime the eyes I always use a concealer rather than a primer as I find this works better for me. For this blue look I wanted to play around with the Illamasqua Expressionist Artistry and started with the shade ‘canvas primer’ to set the concealer on my lids. To add depth to my lids I used shade ‘deeestorted’ into the inner crease. Lastly I took the shade ‘blue period’ dense brush, picked up this gorgeous blue shadow and sprayed my brush with a spritz if Mac Prep & Prime Fix+ to make it extra pigmented.

To make my lashes look a little more voluminous I used my current favour mascara, the Glossier Lash Slick. I love how naturally full this makes my eyelashes look and how it never clumps. To fluff up my brows I used my absolute favour brow gel, The Glossier Boy Brow is a must for those who love the editorial soap brow style.

Lastly to add some colour and shine to the lips I used the one of my favourite coloured glosses, the Lime Crime Wet Cherry Gloss. The way this hits the light in super pretty and this will makes people lips look larger. I used the shade ‘bitter cherry’.

Here is my finished look, what do you think of the colour combination and do you like to wear blue? Let me know in the comments below!
