Hello Bees, so I have a bit (well a lot) of a girl crush on Saoirse Ronan, she’s such a great actress but it’s her quirky yet romantic style and her always gorgeous fresh skin and makeup that has me crushing! I recently saw some old event pictures of her wearing the dewy glass skin trend, naked eyes and bold vampy power lips and had to recreate this look on myself.
I’m in love with how clean and bare this skin looks, this creates the perfect canvas for a purple/berry lip to really stand out. And I love the addition of the sharp brow tail too!
How I created this look-
The most important step when creating glass skin is skincare, the whole aim is for the skin to look flawless, glossy, barely there and almost see through. Prepping your skin correctly provides the best canvas to start putting your makeup on. I start by using the Pixi Glow Tonic as this is a liquid exfoliant and provides a smooth bright base, I then go in with the Dermalogica Prisma Protect moisturiser to hydrate the skin and for the gorgeous healthy glow it leaves.
When creating a glass skin base it is better to stick to cream products as these provide a more skin like finish and also blend out easier and look more sheer/natural. To prime the skin I used the MUA Pro Base Softening Oil Stick on my dryer areas of my face, this limits the amount of texture that shows up after using my foundation.
Next I used a pump of my favourite drugstore foundation Essence Fresh & Fit which has the perfect formula, medium coverage which can be built to full and has a dewy finish. This also looks so pretty on my skin. To add some depth back into my face I added a small amount of the Hoola Quickie Contour Stick, this blends into the skin like a dream and is the perfect shade for my pale tone without making me look muddy. To add some flush to my cheeks I used my current favourite blush Cloud Paint from Glossier in shade ‘puff.
To add extra glow to the skin I used the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter in shade ‘champagne pop’ and added this silky cream highlight to the points of my face where the light naturally hits, the brow bone, cheek bone and end of the nose. To add some boldness to the eyes I added a coat of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. For the brows I didn’t do much other than lightly groom them with a new brow product I’m trying out the Glossier Boy Brow, This gives a gorgeous full and fluffy brow effect. Lastly the vampy lip, for this I used the Sugar Pill Liquid Poison lipstick shade ‘dark sided. This is the perfect deep plum, spot on for a vampy winter look.
